About EduDog

EduDog is a free educational resource for anyone curious about AKC conformation dog shows. Whether you're attending your first show or mentoring a new exhibitor, EduDog explains the mechanics of regular class judging in plain language.

• Ribbon colors — what each ribbon means, from the blue first-place ribbon to the purple-and-gold Best of Breed.
• Ring flow — the step-by-step process from regular classes through Winners Dog, Winners Bitch, and Best of Winners.
• Championship points — how points are calculated based on the number of dogs competing, your breed, and the AKC division where the show takes place.

Scope

This site focuses on the regular class judging process that leads to championship (CH) points. It does not currently cover Best of Breed judging, Grand Championship (GCH) points, Group or Best in Show competition, or the Owner-Handler series.
