Affenpinscher — Coat
Which of the following best describes the Affenpinscher's coat according to the AKC standard?
In general, dogs carry noticeably more coat than bitches. The quality of the coat is of greater importance than length.
The functional wiry coat is the breed’s most distinctive feature. A dog must have a correct coat to be of correct type.
There are two types of coat; rough and smooth. Both are double coated.
Dense hair, rough, harsh, and about 1 inch in length on the shoulders and body. May be shorter on the rear and tail.
