Beagle — Coat
Which of the following best describes the Beagle's coat according to the AKC standard?
A close, hard, hound coat of medium length. Defects-A short, thin coat, or of a soft quality.
Short, smooth, dense and close-lying, without woolly undercoat. A distinctly long coat is a disqualification.
Double. Undercoat short, close, soft and woolly.
Quality, texture and quantity of coat are of prime importance. Hair is glossy, fine and silky in texture.
