Otterhound — Coat
Which of the following best describes the Otterhound's coat according to the AKC standard?
Weather-resisting, comprised of soft, dense undercoat and hard, wiry top coat. Silky or curly coat bad fault.
It is doubled coated. The entire body is covered with a long, dense, shaggy, thick coat that is reasonably straight.
The coat is an essential feature of the Otterhound. Coat texture and quality are more important than the length.
The guard hairs of the coat must be long, well fitting, straight and abundant. They should not be silky or wiry.
