Silky Terrier — Coat
Which of the following best describes the Silky Terrier's coat according to the AKC standard?
Short and fine on head and forelegs. On all other parts of moderate length and flat.
Straight, single, glossy, silky in texture. On matured specimens the coat falls below and follows the body outline.
The Scottish Terrier should have a broken coat. It is a hard, wiry outer coat with a soft, dense undercoat.
Outer coat is thick and hard, but rather smooth lying. The under coat is soft and dense.
