Tibetan Mastiff — Coat
Which of the following best describes the Tibetan Mastiff's coat according to the AKC standard?
Medium length but dense as it is double. Outer hairs slightly harsh in texture; never wiry, curly or silky.
The coat is hard, smooth, and short, with sufficient density to be of use in all weather. The skin is loose and elastic.
In general, dogs carry noticeably more coat than bitches. The quality of the coat is of greater importance than length.
Should be short, flat, harsh to the touch and with a fine gloss. The dog's skin should fit tightly.
